Arrived to Vegas at late evening and went for a walk when it was midnight, first thing to visit was Stratosphere , after making couple of shots from the street I went in. There are different attractions inside the tower but what I wanted is to get to the top. But unfortunately they’ve been closing visits to the top and I left it for next day. I had a long walk on Las Vegas Boulevard but I was really exhausted by driving almost 8hrs from San Francisco so I made few shots of casinos and went back to hotel to get some sleep. Famous sign Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas. Death Valley Next day I headed to Death Valley, filled gas, bought plenty of water and food, because my destination was the area with “moving rocks” called Racetrack Playa, the rocks are leaving trails on a deserted field of salt flats, the real cause of those trails is not yet known, but there are several theories about that. Anyway , I did some research of an area before going there and the only concern was the 27mile unpaved road which leads to the racetrack itself. The road was great and […]
San Francisco is famous with many sites but the most famous and recognizable is the Golden Gate. But during this time of the year it’s mostly covered with fog, so I had to spend a day or actually two days just in downtown , where in contrary, the sun is shinning and there’s no fog. But before heading to downtown we have decided to check out the weather at the beach. It was dull and wind out there as you can see… One of the most elevated spots in SF is Coit Tower, there is a nice view of downtown and Alcatraz from the top of the tower. Pillar tops are only visible, the rest of bridge is hidden. Alcatraz revealed. SF Downtown. Another spot well known in SF is Lombard Street, it’s the crookedest street in the world. We have sneaked in into some private property where we have found another nice view of Alcatraz. And there is no San Francisco without cable cars ! Lombard street from the opposite side of the city. And some photos from the downtown itself. Chinatown American muscle cars.
It just so happened that first weekend of my arrival was so called long weekend, there was Labor day in US and Monday was a day off, so lot of people are moving towards San Francisco to spend a day there. This causes traffic jams and issues with parking so we decided to drive away from the city to Napa Valley. There was a nice weather and we managed to taste local wine with some Spanish cheese , the valley itself is pretty big , and the grapes were great ! So far I had no luck to make a shot of Golden Gate as it’s covered with thick fog, only one part of the bridge has revealed while we’ve been heading to Napa. One of the things that I’m quite excited about in america is vintage cars, especially the ones that are covered with rust and abandoned, you can find lot of those along country roads and this one was parked next to a diner where we stopped for a moment. Napa downtown was nothing special so we moved further to north to Calistoga where we stopped at a winery to taste some wine and grapes in fields. On […]
Dear friends, This is my first entry in my photo blog that I have launched recently. And right from the beginning I am happy to announce about my plans for the next month. But it would be easier to show you rather than use many words. The map below is the circle that I am planning to make in South West of America. Starting my journey in San Francisco and all the way till Yellowstone and then back to SF again. I hope my ambitious plan will become true and there won’t be any obstacles on my way. I will keep in touch with you as much as I can by constantly updating my blog with latest news, impressions and of course photos from all the sites that I’ll be visiting during my journey. Wish me luck and see you around !
